Can you imagine a world, say 100 years ago, where most people drove coal-powered diesels and people would show up at the general store (Pa’s Whole Sundries Market) in a gas car, and the store would have a free gas pump right next to the handicapped spots marked “Clean Distilled Benzene Conveyances Only.” People on horses would be so pissed.
Fun with anachronisms.

I can picture that. At the Air Force Museum the electric car chargers are right in the middle of the handicap spaces, and I’ve heard lots of comments when I use them.
They originally were in the second section with normal spaces, but they had to move the handicap spaces back when they added security barricades. Since they didn’t want to relocate the chargers they ended out with the handicap spaces.

Sort of ironic at a place like the AF Museum, which is filled with many of the least efficient (and most amazing) engines ever built. Maybe they’re paying a penance :D

Hmm, maybe I can use that argument to get a few racetracks to add special electric car spaces before I go back.

I also love/laugh at where they place charging stations at times. I especially love here in Florida when a non-electric car parks in one and comes back to their car being ticketed, booted, or towed. It is in the Florida Statutes.
